Amendments, such as changing the length of the PASS, can occur at any time during the life of a PASS but SSA must approve them. There is no limit to the number of amendments that can be approved. The key is to inform the SSA PASS expert so they can adjust the PASS accordingly.
SSA will suspend a PASS when the PASS is not terminated pursuant to the criteria discussed below and the criteria for extending a PASS are not met. A PASS may be suspended for up to 12 consecutive months. If not resumed, within this period it will be terminated.
